Prototyping PCI Module
Prototyping PCI Module for IP-Core Evaluation

Overview
The PCI evaluation board can be used to evaluate all emsys IP cores on PCI-based x86-Systems. The board accepts several USB/Firewire/Ethernet physical modules.
Key Features
The board contains the following components, as shown in the picture on top of this page:
- VIRTEX2 FPGA XC2V1000/XC2V1500/XC2V2000
- FPGA design can be downloaded through software or ditect JTAG connection
- Header connectors to extend the board with daughter boards for various tasks (USB High-speed PHY, USB FS/LS PHY, IEEE 1394 PHY)
- User interfaces like LED, DIP-switches, buttons, General Purpose I/O's
- Probe Mictor Connectors on each daughter board expansion
- Voltage monitor LEDs
- Xilinx configuration EEPROM XC18V04
- AMD Flash EEPROM Am29LV040B
- Xilinx CPLD XC9572 for configuration tasks
- PCI interface
- On-board voltage supplies (1.5V/3.3V)
- On-board clock generation (48MHz and mounting option)
The FPGA design can be stored in a Xilinx serial EPROM using the JTAG interface. Additionally, it is possible to do design updates through PCI.
Requirements
- x86 PC 32bit architecture
- At least 1 free PCI slot, 33MHz 32bit
- Linux OS, kernel 2.4 or higher
